Gen - what a beautiful home you have and very nicely decorated. Love the space above the cupboards where you can put things. As to lightening up the corner where the fireplace is...um...might I suggest staying away from prim - lol!

Thank you guys for all your wonderful comments! And LOL @ Tracy. I guess if I had it too prim in the corner it would be a little darker. I think I may have solved my conundrum with a project for my husband to help the space. But I'll post that later when he starts it.
